Review: Fray Botod
Fray Botod is about a hypocritical priest back in the Spanish Era by Graciano Lopez Jaena. The story story is about how the priest use religion to abuse the power agains Filipinos. The priest neglects his parish duties, pursue gambling, threatens and punish students repeatedly then treats workers severely and generally conducts business in corrupt mindset.
The overall story is good and it shows the abuse and brutallity of the friar back in the 1800's. The characters and the settings completely organized with the plot and it makes the story more realistic based on the described place. It makes us understand that we should not let someone handle ourselves that could make them a man that could destroy themselves and the country. We should fight and let our country men have freedom that could make the country better and patriotic for the sake of the Philippines.
